Remixology | Three Outfits with One Jumpsuit Pt. 1

Liz Morrow x Modcloth

It's been a hot minute since I did a Remixology post! I'm all about maximizing the closet you have, so remixing items in my closet is something I love doing. The whole fast fashion thing where people where things once and then discard them? Not into it.

I'm super in love with the lightweight and breezy jumpsuit (can jumpsuits be breezy?).  The linen fabric is perfect for summer, and the muted green color feels really versatile.  For this first look I got a smidge fancy by popping on some patent black heels and this cute blouse with frilly sleeves. Gingham Style

Modcloth Gingham Dress

I feel like this should've been a farmers market outfit or something more rural, but in reality it was just a brunching-with-friends outfit. We're still waiting for full blown summer to arrive so it was a little chilly today in this dress but it was too cute for me to wait any longer to style up. I imagine once hot temps come to stay I'll probably be living in this light and breezy midi dress (though on me it's nearly a maxi, haha!).

California Poppy

Iris + Poppy Lennon Dress

I'm gonna be honest with you guys... this hat is a Halloween costume hat.  It's one of those new costume items that Goodwill has for sale during Halloween.  It was, like, maybe ten bucks?  And it's chintzy as hell, and I don't even know what the material is, it could even be plastic covered with some black fuzz that makes it look suede-y.  But it's the exact style that I wanted for so long, so when I saw it on one of my thrifting adventures last fall I picked it up.  Someday I'll drop some money on a nice hat, but for now, this one will do.  I apologize to all the artisan hat makers who are cringing thinking about this hat being on my head as an actual fashion item and not a 10 year old's Halloween costume.

What is not a cheap Halloween costume, though is this dress!  I picked this beauty up from Iris + Poppy and it's probably going to be my favorite summer dress.  It's so lightweight, I know it'll be all I want to wear on those days we start brushing up against triple digit temperatures. I've got a discount code for Iris + Poppy, too, so if you want to grab this dress or any of the other cute things they have (I'm dying over the Sadie Jumpsuit!), just use the code AMB-LIZ15 to get 15% off your order!

Farmer's Market Summer Days

Lou & Grey Striped Summer Dress-9.jpg

Is it weird that I prefer shooting my own outfit photos?  I suppose after 10 years of doing it with my me, myself, and my tripod, it makes sense that it'd be the most comfortable way for me to do things. I do like having friends or Dan shoot me sometimes, but there's something almost relaxing and comfortable about DIY outfit shoot sessions.

Summer is in full swing here in the PNW and oh how I love this time of year here.  I'm not joking when I tell people I want to snowbird to southern California during the winter PNW months.  Sorry not sorry I'm not a fan of damp, dreary weather.  Tried it, don't like.  Give me snow and sub-zero temps over that mess any day.  I figure if I don't get a proper (snowy) winter anyway I might as well escape to the desert right?  Now I just have to convince my in-laws to let me live in the Brave in their Joshua Tree, CA driveway all winter.  I think as long as I bring Jack, they'll be down.

And speaking of Joshua Tree, last time I wore this dress was in Joshua Tree!  I guess that's actually the last time I was somewhere warm enough to wear it.

Stripes for days

Striped Jumpsuit Summer Outfit

I'm pretty obsessed with jumpsuits this year, in all forms really.  Overalls, rompers, coveralls, fancy jumpsuits, and so on.  Luckily they are relatively trendy now so it's much easier to find them in stores. I usually shy away from tube top stuff, and I'm still not a big fan, but this jumpsuit was cute enough that I didn't mind it. I didn't do anything fun in this outfit, but I really want to take it for a spin to brunch with some sparkling rose, waffles, and friends.  Sounds like a perfect afternoon jumpsuit (with stretchy waistband) activity to me!  Also: if you haven't had sparkling rose, get on that.  I think it's my summer 2018 beverage of choice.
