Whiskey Flowers

Went to a show last night, it was wonderful. Shows like that always make me wish I could play well enough to do shows. Or write songs.
Anyway, it was great. I got there a little late so I missed the first bands, but really the ones I was there for were the only ones I wanted to hear. If you haven't heard
Karli Fairbanks, you really need to. She is incredible. She probably isn't known outside of the northwest, but she definitely should be.
David Bazan was headlining, and as expected, he was incredible.

1-900-MIX-ALOT

I have a bad habit of just titleing my posts whatever lyrics are playing at the moment. And yes, I am listening to Baby Got Back by Sir Mix A Lot. Word to your mother. I was going to wear heels today (gasp) but I just spaced it as I walked out of the house and threw on the ubiquitous mocassins.

Sometimes your words just hypnotize me

Hey Folks. I have been lurking about the web quite a bit lately and have found some lovely things. Here they are!

These are from High on Life, and... I think my Winehouse/Leopard print obsession is showing again.

I know, kind of silly, but I don't intend on starting smoking or even "really smoking" them, so don't get mad at me for being stupid for acquiring an addiction intentially, I'm not. Maybe I will just start making friends who want to bum a smoke off of me. I used to carry around a lighter for just that purpose.
For some loveliness, go look at Erica A.

Bruise

The days are starting to smell cold,
just barely,
like the girl who wears too much purfume
that walked past a minute ago, leaving her scent behind.
And my house feels your bruise,
but like a bruise you will fade
when your toothbrush leaves
and I can't smell you on my clothes anymore.
Soon I won't even see the purplish yellow tinge
and my lips will have forgotten
what your kiss tasted like.
