All Along The Watchtower

I think I like hats even more with my short hair. I don't know why, but lately I'm always reaching for a had once I'm done getting dressed. Or maybe it's just this hat, because it's my new favorite thing. I have a habit of wearing the hell out of new favorite things. Sometimes I'll put a new favorite thing on mere moments after purchasing it. This is my gauge of how much I love something: how soon after buying it I must have it on my body, and how frequently it appears on my body in the next 2 weeks.
I also love when something I've had in my closet for a really long time suddenly makes a resurgence. These shoes, for instance, have been hiding in my closet for many months since I got them last summer, but I recently pulled them out and have wanted to wear them all the time. They're definitely the tallest shoes I own, so I have to do my best not to roll my ankles, but I love them!

52 Letters // Week 2

Here's my second letter in my 52 letter challenge. Like every one else, I've become totally enthralled with washi tape, and even just today I bought another set of them. They're just so cute for adding some fun to any letter or package. Plus, it's tape, so it's totally functional (this is just me rationalizing having a whole mason jar full of rolls of washi tape).
I think all this being intentional about fostering creativity in my life is going quite well! Today I finished up a pleated pleather skirt and I'm working on a messenger bag currently. I've never made a bag (well, other than my little chalk bag for rock climbing), so I'm kind of winging it, but it's fun! If I end up making another bag I'll definitely do better next time with all the mistakes learning experiences I'm getting on this first one. I might make a little tote bag too. Way simpler!

Le Bunny Bleu Giveaway

Hi guys! Today I get to bring you a giveaway from my sponsor, Le Bunny Bleu. They're giving away one pair of oxfords from their collection to one lucky reader this week! Le Bunny Bleu has a ton of cute shoes, like these colorful moccasins (which are on sale!). I have the mint green ones and I love them! I think my other favorites are these awesome cut out oxfords.
To Enter:
For this giveaway you can get two entries. For one entry, visit Le Bunny Bleu and pick your favorite pair of shoes, then come back here and leave a comment on this post letting me know which pair you love!
If you'd like a second entry, head over to Le Bunny Bleu's facebook page and like them! If you do this, make sure to come on back to this post and leave another comment letting me know you liked them on facebook so I can tally another entry for you.
On your entries, make sure to leave me a way to contact you in case you're drawn as the winner.
Giveaway will be open for entries until Saturday, February 4th at 9pm PST.
(p.s. if you've already entered through posting a comment via my intensedebate commenting system, don't worry, your entry is there! My intensedebate commenting went down for a bit and the blogger commenting took over, but the intensedebate comment entries still exist and I'll be counting them all when it comes time to draw the winner.)
The Tacoma Social

Last night I went out to the Tacoma Social and met up with Mandy, who is one of my favorites. I'm still pretty new to Tacoma, so I'm making (feeble) attempts at getting out into the community more. One of the coffee shops I go to has started doing open mic nights, so I might try to start doing open mic again. Regardless, I like the idea of the whole Tacoma Social thing. It's put on by this new organization/website that's devoted to sharing the beautiful people and places that Tacoma has to offer, which reminds me a lot of the magazine I started back at college trying to do the same thing for Spokane. Unfortunately my magazine only lasted a few months until I graduated college and then moved away from Spokane, but I still like Spokane's culture and feel like Tacoma has a lot of the same living-in-Seattle's-vast-cultural-shadow to overcome when it comes to our little city. But I love the culture here and I loved the culture in Spokane as well. It isn't as easy to find, but when you do, it's a rich wealth of creative people making the city their own.

My Favorite Corner

Now that I have a proper stand for our record player, this is one of my favorite corners of our house. When I spied that odd little metal industrial table at Value Village I was so excited. It fits our record player perfectly and it was only 8 bucks, as opposed to the ones I found in stores for $50 or more. Our little house is coming together slowly but surely.
